Obesity & Cholesterol: Watching That Weight

Obesity is one of the major concerns within the US and many other countries across the globe.  Although the health hazards have been exposed numerous times, people still decide not to listen. Over the past decade, obesity levels have increased significantly, bringing the number of premature deaths due to obesity, with it. Not only is obesity a cosmetic problem, it is a massive health hazard, with huge risks of life threatening diseases such as heart disease, cancer, high blood pressure and many more. Amongst the huge list of hazards, unhealthy cholesterol should be one of the major concerns, as obesity is tightly linked to high levels of cholesterol, and as you will probably know by now: Cholesterol is not good!

Everybody needs some cholesterol in their body, if we didn’t, our body would not make it naturally, but the amount it makes is enough, and is healthy, whereas eating fried and processed foods is not. Most fried foods and takeaway foods are high in LDL cholesterol, and when your body has no way of disposing of this cholesterol, it stores it in your blood vessels, causing clogging and bad circulation. Nobody wants to be obese, and everybody can make a huge difference to their healthy by simply changing their diet and exercising regularly. Even a small weight loss of 10 to 20 pounds can have a massive effect on your overall health, and with the help and advice available today, losing weight shouldn’t be a problem.

People with an higher than average weight are the most likely to develop heart disease, or suffer instant death from a stroke or heart attack, as cholesterol levels in obese people tend to be pretty high. Losing the amount of fat you carry can dramatically decrease your chances of developing any problems, and losing just 10% of your weight could prolong your life by several years. One of the quickest and most effective ways to lose excess weight is to include a low-card concept to your diet, as well as regular exercise. Taking just small steps each day will make a huge difference in your health and your quality of life, so make that first step, before it is too late.
